Evidence-Based // Practically Applied

I’m a nutrition scientist, strength and conditioning specialist, and educator who lives at the crossroads between the lab and the gym. With a PhD in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences from Arizona State University, I’m equally obsessed with the messy beauty of human data and the real-world experimentation that happens one-on-one with real humans living real lives.

My work delves into the gut-brain axis, exercise physiology, female physiology, and the many ways we can (and should) leverage science to support physical and mental performance for those bold enough to question the norm.

Yes, I’m a lab rat—but I’m also a field mouse. I believe in treating yourself as your own n=1 science experiment… but ideally one with fewer wires and more snacks.

Over the past several years, I’ve led clinical trials, mentored emerging scientists, and consulted with both individuals and companies who believe credibility matters more than clickbait. My approach is rigorously evidence-based, practically applied, and always laced with a healthy dose of “we’re all figuring it out, so let’s stay curious.”

If you're here to learn, collaborate, or just fine-tune your BS detector—welcome. Let’s give ‘em health.

Hi, my name is Dr. Emily Dow.
